Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is the first game in the Wizardry video game series. Andrew Greenberg and Robert Woodhead created it. Norman Sirotek established Sir-Tech Software, Inc. in 1980 and debuted a beta version of the software at the 1980 Boston Computer Conference. The game's final version was released in 1981.
