In 1984, Nintendo created and released Urban Champion, a fighting video game. It was initially released in arcades in 1984 for the Famicom and Nintendo VS. System, and then in North America and Europe in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was inspired by the Game & Watch game Boxing from 1984.
