This prototype is a pre-release build of the NES version of Ninja Gaiden. It should be kept separate from the standard Tecmo retail release because prototype cartridges may use EPROM boards, temporary labels, early code, or other development-stage parts from before final manufacturing. A preserved prototype example is documented as an EPROM cartridge with “Ninja” labeling.
